Yeah- made the wallpaper in my hospital room move around and up and down. I told the nurse and she just looked at me like I was crazy. I told her "look when i came here i was depressed not crazy, not hallucinating." I changed dr.'s the next day and he fixed my meds and everything has been great.

Yes I had a horrible experience with Seroquel. In fact, I ended up in the ER because of taking it. I have Restless Leg Syndrome, and Seroquel make me feel like I had it all over my body. My head would jerk, my arms and hands jerked, just like my legs do from the RLS, without medication. If you are having ANY reverse reactions to Seroquel at all, STOP taking it immediately! Call your doctor, and if he won't change it, find someone that will. I asked my husb. doctor, a doc for the brain, and he told me that Seroquel was affecting the nerves instead of just making me sleepy. Oh! I was sleepy, but couldn't go to sleep, because of the jerking muscles.

Yes, my daughter did on the third night she took it. She made the mistake of going outdoors, and bumped into a parked van, then fell to the ground. She was able to get up, but appeared to be in a drunken-type state.
She is still taking this medicine. What happened that night was that the doctor who prescribed it had given her samples that were 200 mg. each. The first two nights she only took 1/2 pill, and stayed in bed. The third night, she took a whole pill and went outdoors.
The forth day was her follow-up doctor appointment, so she told him what happened. He had given her the wrong doseage. He then gave her some 50 mg. pills, some 100 mg pills, and told her not to again take the 200 mg. pills until she'd taken the 50s and then 100s for a specified period of time. Her system is now used to the med, so she has had no further problem with it.
The doctor should definitely have paid more attention to what box he initially gave her. These meds are always supposed to get into your system starting with a low dose, and gradually moving up. When you get off, the reverse is done.

Yes, my psychiatrist put me on 25-50mg a day for my acute manic state to get my night time manic brain to sleep, while I stabalize on my Lithium (1350mg daily). SEROQUEL SUCKS, for me. My Lithium is great, but I am still having a little bit of sleep problems, coming out of a 3 month manic phase. So, she said for me to try it. I have used it for two nights and I am never going to put Seroquel in my body again. The first night I took it I could not walk and felt like rubber at 50mg's of it. I was late for my job and was a zombie/stoned head all day. I felt horrible. Then I took 25mg, thinking I would sleep normal and feel better today. Well I was able to walk around last night, but I feel so stoned and agitated, not to mention my skin is crawling today. I have slurred speech and my motor skilled are way off. I have had a hard time the past two days getting my movements to coordinate with my brain. Also, I think I am hallucinating?? Things are moving around me and everything is distored. I HATE THIS, I am just waiting for it to wear off this weekend. YUCK YUCK , I give this drug an F.... To any other bipolar folks out there, I am giving Valerian Root a try, it is and all natural herbal suppliment. Good luck everyone! BTW, if anyone wants to know my progress with Valerian, let me know. I am hoping it will help me sleep more naturally while I stabalize and for when I get a little manic.

I used to take Seroquel back when I was younger, there are quite side effects. It never helped me though. I had fatigue and sluggish feelings, absentmindness, and forgetfulness. It seemed to make everything worse. I stopped taking it because it just made me feel low, like nothing was good in life, I always kept hidden and never wanted to leave the house.

I have taken it for several years now and it has helped with anxiety and sleep problems. Everyone has different reactions to medication and some do experience side effects but each person is different. You should talk with your doctor if you have any problems. I used to take Ativan and had no problems but when my step-dad took it he went "crazy" until off it. So discuss any problems with your doctor. If you can't remember everything do as I do and make notes. My doctor is very used to me coming in with notes.
