I don't understand that either. Organization provides a framework where we can do more together than we can apart. It provides structure so that we can learn from each other and channel our energy and resources toward a common goal of spreading the gospel and providing for hurting humanity. A single individual alone cannot accomplish what an organized group can accomplish. It gives us a place to study Gods Word, enjoy the corporate blessing reserved by God for those who assemble together in His Name, and it is in direct obedience to the Word which says "forsake not the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is and so much more as you see the day approaching." I know there have been instances of abuse in organized religion - but do we really need to throw the baby out with the bathwater? Should we not still obey Gods will in assembling together in His Name that His Presence might be manifested among us? God has a plan for His Church (blood-bought believers in Christ) and I intend to be part of what God is doing among His gathered people.

Im a spritual person, but I dont like to follow anything blindly. Plus my conception of god differs from most organized religion. I prefer to form my own Ideas about god and the universe. Im not going to beleive something just because a book which could of been written by any one and has many flaws in it says so. I dont think anyone science or religion knos the real truth. Pycheldelic substances and meditation can help expand the Consciousness and find meaning

One reason I have a difficult time with organized religion is because of how the "religions" use it for CONTROL.

Some people are o.k. with being brainwashed and told how to think and how to act. Religions have even gotten into politics too. Now they want to tell you how to vote too.

Not to mention they would really love your money. Supposedly to help other people. I don't see them helping much do you?
Since one "organized religion" will disagree with the other "religion", they are quietly promoting prejudice.

No thanks, I'm a free-thinker.

I think its at least partly a matter of politics. Some people have bad experiences with organized religion, then never want to go back to it. Other people just don't want to be labeled and then told to act like their label.

Considering what percentage of the world goes to some sort of organized service, the real question is why so many do like it.

I don't get it at all. The only value I see in it is as a social club.

Because they think if you must join an organized religion, all the doctrines and morals are determined by the religion, and not your own conscience, so you must forsake your conscience for the sake of your religion.

The same reason I don't like politics. When large groups of people get together unchecked, and start thinking they have all the answers to problems that probably don't exists in the first place, the potential for stupidity and evil skyrockets.

It gives them a place to belong and avoids them of asking a questions. kind of like if all these people are doing it, it can't be wrong. it was hard for me, but I got out of the catholic church, it came through a lot of bible study.

Because it promotes ignorance, bigotry, and control. Shows it's hypocrisy at every turn, and still manages to brainwash enough people for it to survive..
