Can you box left handed?
All of the boxing instructions refer to people who are right-handed. So is it wrong to box left-handed?
Can I reverse everything?

I started off training in kick boxing and jeet kune do in the early 1990s. I followed what Bruce Lee said and trained strong side forward for years and since I've been doing it for so long, it feels natural. I have developed power with my left hand and I even taught myself to write with my left hand.

I can switch to orthodox if I want to but I prefer southpaw.

Southpaws usually cause problems for orthodox boxers so it is not wrong to be southpaw.

Yes of course. A lot of southpaws became boxing champs and the current toast of the superfeatherweight division, Manny Pacquiao, is left-handed. It's just a matter of learning the proper stance and technique, which is basically the same whether you're a right-hander or a left-hander. It becomes tricky when you fight your opposite, meaning a left-hander going up against a right-hander or vice-versa. Then, you start making critical adjustments or better yet, be ambidextrous, like Marvin Hagler.

yeah like other people said, its called southpaw. its actually not that hard, a lot of people start out that way because it sometimes feels more natural to have your more powerful hand in front. im right handed but i box southpaw most of the time. i do this because my jab is a lot of better and i box better southpaw. but i brawl better when i'm in the orthodox stance. so it just whatever suits you.

There are few examples of a boxer switching right to left successfully in the Ring. There are, however, several examples of successful right handed fighters who fought left handed.

Marvin Hagler comes to mind.

Sure you can box left-handed, but some techniques may not work well if reversed.
