A real interesting book that relates to this topic is Raymond Moody's "Life After Life." It examines near-death experiences, where people were resuscitated (Sp?) after clinical death. There were amazing similarities among the stories recounted, including a dark tunnel, a spiritual, formless body, meeting a being of light which induces a playback of the person's life, and intense feelings of peace, joy and love. It's an interesting book, and I reccommend it.

As for if I think Heaven exists, yes, I do, although not the one with angels blowing bugels and everyone floating around on clouds! It's hard for me to comprehend, but I think of it as a kind of oneness with God, and a destruction of the sense of self.

I used to think it existed but I think when you die, your soul and energy get absorbed into the ground. The second law of thermodynamics states that you cannot create energy nor destroy it. So when you die I think you just get reincarnated into other animals/people but you'll never really know it.

My heart stopped once for one minute when I was younger. I remember just darkness and then I came out of it when the doctors got me out of it. I didn't remember this feeling until i got my wisdom teeth pulled out and i was put under. When I came to, I thought I had died and came back and I freaked the hell out.

I think that heaven is a human creation to provide assurance that you will abide by the rules of law while on earth. If someone kills someone, yes this is wrong and they should go to jail. But how does our society say that it's okay to kill someone in a war. I think equally are "bad" yet society and religion create social contructs to promote good behavior, but really it's a big contradiction. So if you don't kill anyone you'll go to heaven. But if you kill someone you'll go to hell, and if you fought for your country you'll go to heaven either way?

Studio 54 on a Saturday night in 1977. Beautiful people, nights of endless dancing, and all the cocaine you could ever want.

Actually, I'm kidding. I don't really believe in heaven.

13. Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon).

14. And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach.

15. And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal,

16. Crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure thereof according to their wishes.

17. And they will be given to drink there a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabîl (ginger, etc.),

18. A spring there, called Salsabîl.

19. And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls.

20. And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.

21. Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.

22. (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted."(al'insan) (QURAN)

cold ,boring ,conservative ,

paradise can be here on earth ,but we have to make it by gardening and ingenuity ,and you do not have to die to enjoy it .
Hell is here as well .and it is also man made

the heaven you talk about is only in the mind and the best you can hope for is to be compost in gods imaginary garden in the sky
