My boyfriend and I want to start making our own bread rather than purchasing store brought. We were wondering what makes the difference between specialized wheat breads -such as whole grain or seven grain, whole grain oat, etc.- as opposed to simple wheat bread. Also, what gives breads their different textures (for instance some are light and porous, others more condensed)? Any info on where we might further research this would be equally helpful. Many thanks.

Well with the Grain breads, they get their texture from the different grains you put in it. The bread pours depend on how it's been kneaded. It also depends on the ingredients that you use to make your bread. Homemade bread is quite YUMMY!! and sometimes less expensive to make rather than to buy! GOOD LUCK!!! Hope this helps!!
