About 6 or 7 years ago I began getting flu shots and since have not had any colds and only one small flu bug. My Granddaughter shared it with the entire family.

A cold or the flu are easily mistaken for one another. They have many similar symptoms and when you feel bad you just feel bad.

Maybe you do get more than one virus at one time. But when you feel rotten, how much do you care which virus it is?

yes- cold viruses and flu viruses are different viruses. the symptoms are similair and you could mistake one for the other or mistake having both. if you are vommiting and/or diarrheah and have a chronic runny nose, you can assume you have both. vommiting/diarreah are flu symtoms but not cold symptoms- runny nose is a cold symptom but not a flu symtom.

Actually if you have a cold, then you do have the flu. The cold and flu are one in the same. To my understanding, a "cold" is the flu, but your symptoms are not as severe.
