Many Christians do realize atheists do not care about what they think, and this causes a certain amount of fear. In general, people naturally prefer others to like what they like. (I have this tasty peanut butter sandwich, would you like half?)
But I do not agree that Christians spout hate. A few individuals certainly seem hateful on occasion, but I think this is true with any religion. Certainly the over-enthusiasm caused by pressure to witness and fear of hell can be a bit much for those around who do not share the faith. But consider the point of view of the believer. If you believed in a hell, would you want to let your friend go there? I really don't think you would.
I prefer not to think about hell much myself. I sincerely hope it does not exist, but I honestly cannot be certain because I have not yet been to either heaven nor hell. But the fear that it might exist is just enough to keep me on good behavior you could say. Either that, or else I behave well because I want to, because it seems the right and good thing to do, and I value my reputation.

meh ... this spiraled down pretty quickly.

I think if we're all honost with each other, we do care what each other thinks. If we didn't, we probably wouldn't be posting in a section entitled 'Religion and Spirituality.'

Some christians do spout hate and fear. I cannot deny that. But on the flip side, we do catch a pretty big wad of flack as well.

As I've said a few times tonight, we could all be a bit more civil in our dealings.

Yes, but why are atheists in this category ? B/c their existence is so pathetic that they have no other forum to spout off ? Sad. Get a life. Are they atheist so they can spend all of their time whining about God ? Are they so concerned with Religion and Spirituality- they decided to become atheist ? It would be funny if it wasn't so true and pathetic.

you sound like your spouting a lil bitta hate right here my friend. watch yourself...you may think its ok to talk like that over the internet, but the real world may be a tad more cruel to you.

EDIT:(back at ya lol) your question is in fact NOT a question. It is a statement, unresearched, assumed and written with anger (hence the "understood?" part.) you do not know every atheist, therefore you are not fit to make this statement. Once you survey the entire world, TWICE, come back and let us know what "all atheist's think". understood? ;o)

On the flipside, I also wonder if atheists realize that Christians don't care what they think. Hmm...looking back at your question history, and the tone of your questions, I'm gonna guess a big fatty no.

I do care about what they think. I care because I have to care...they keep trying to stick the crap in the public/political arena.

As far as their self delusion....I am perfectly happy to let them while away their time in blissful ignorance.

you are told a million times and nothing is getting through, if you want to go to hell, fine we get! Heaven is a Zillion times better.
IGNORANCE never got anyone somewhere, and it wont for you either. Its your life, your soul...traded it with the Devil.
