My boyfriend of six & a half years broke up with me about a month ago..First of all he did it in an e-mail(he says he had to do it in an e-mail or I would talk him back into it..I never have before though) he told me that he knew I was ready to get married & he was not..& that he "didn't really feel that he was in love with me anymore" but he hoped we could still be friends...Since we have been together he has done this twice each time is for the the same reasons he isnt happy & isnt in love with me after a few months of being a part we end up back together & HE wants to get married..so I agree he never has bought the ring but he has asked & even picked out things for the wedding & where & when we would get married he seemed so excited & then he eventually breaks it off again..I just don't get it..We are first loves & we have the same outlook & want the same things out of life I dont understand why he does this...does anyone have any ideas should I just give up or keep hanging on?

Well, Just let things go. Do not hang on. It's a tough time as you are in love and still you do not have him beside you. Let the time pass the way it is passing. Divert your mind towards other aspects of life. In due course, you will find your own answer, whethre to reapproach him, or to forget and forgive or just keep loving him even though he do not care for you. It may take long but the answer to ur question will come from within you. Just wait patiently. Good luck.

Thats tough. No one can really tell you what to do since we dont know everything about the relationship, but i can tell you this, you're putting up with too much. Let him know you arent going to stand for it. If he wants you back let him know thats the LAST time you're taking him back, and if he truely wants to be with you he'll get over whatever problems he's having. Try talking to him, or maybe couples counseling. Also - postpone these wedding ideas. You guys should not be getting married anytime soon, even if he says he wants to- because obviously he doesnt

Maybe if you stop being obsessive about marriage he wouldn't be so afraid. You are probably putting pressure by either talking about it incessantly or hinting about it. Look at yourself and your patterns.
Also, be clear about what you want. If you DO want marriage then be honest and open and tell him. If marriage is a deal breaker for you and he does not feel ready, break it off for good. Successful relationships take compromise and honest and open communication.
