is there one truth or are many? If you find something that works, when search for something new. Life is to short to wander too long.

Christians of course can be free thinkers...even though we believe these things, we still have to make decisions in our lives... and we don't just become android robots blindly following... we have enquiring minds, and we investigate like any person seeking to find out about life and what it means for us and what our purpose here on earth is... we just came to the conclusion that Christianity is the truth... obviously others will disagree... but that is the way life is I'm afraid... You see once you become a Christian and see what the bible says... then each individual person is free to see that what we believe is the truth... Free thinking is what makes us human and individuals... Christians just have common goals and ways of looking at the world, thats why it may seem like we're the same... but if you look at all the different denominations methodist, baptist, etc etc then you can see that provided we all have the same core belief "Jesus is God and he died for our sins" then everything else is subjective ... unfortunate but thats the way the cookie crumbles... I hope that clarifies some things!

If Christians are content with God being our Creator, Jesus being the Son of God and our Lord and Savior...... and we believe the Bible when it says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that he who believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

Or Jesus' words, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. "

We believe these things. We believe His words. If that is our beliefs, then why would we want to believe anything else is true? To do so would go against the very core of our current beliefs.

So no, we are not "free thinkers" in that respect. But we are free thinkers in the respect that we can choose to accept Christ or to reject Him. In my case, I choose to accept.

These don't sound like atheist questions. hmmm.
Humans are free thinkers. A true Christian lives their lives FOR God. It is what their lives revolve around, they gain incredible strength from Him. They are willing to drop everything in their life to serve them, when it becomes clear that they must.
People can believe anything they want to, but they will also be 'burned up life chaff in a fire'. poof.

I'm free to think whatever I want. But when something is true, and I'm pretty sure of that, I won't be likely to think a different way. For example, if I think my Mother is a good Mother and I believe she loves me, and I know that I've experience her love, what if someone tells me " Your Mother is a fraud. She doesn"t love you" Would it make me not a free thinker if I said that I didn't believe that?

There are Christians that are free thinkers. The free thinker movement...and sciense.....developed out of Christian theologians like Descartes and, later, Kant. The masonic free thinker movement...which did have a profound effect on the age of reason....devloped from Christian thinkers and theoligians. They aren't all knuckle dragging goons.

I am free to Know what is True and what is false. There is nothing greater than that kind of "freethinking" - free to not be deceived!

Who says "free thinking" is all that great a concept anyway? Does that mean I have to agree with every philosophy that comes down the pike? Doesn't that mean I have no anchor, no foundation, no solid truth in which to rest in, doesn't that mean I have to agree with the following statement:

"Who are you to judge me, I did what I thought was right."

Too bad Charles Manson said it, huh?

Religion has nothing to do with the ability of Christ man or woman to think freely. I don't know where you are going with this, but you must have reasons.

God hates religion. God love you an me. He wants your love and that's all He wants.><>
