yes it is considered as part of the Meat, Poultry, Fish, Beans, Eggs and Nuts.

Yes, meat and meat alternates. Also, FYI, don't serve it to a vegetarian without asking if they are vegan. Some vegetarians will eat eggs, cheese, yogurt, etc... Vegans don't eat anything that comes from an animal.
