Hi Axle,

You can't make this comparison. Voltage is electrical pressure. Amperage is electrical flow. A water hose will have pressure to shoot water for some distance - that is same as volts. That hose is 1/2 inch in diameter or 3/4 inch in diameter. You can consider that as amps. It will produce water in some amount according to the pressure. Now, take the volts times the amps and multiply them together to get a volume or amount of work done - in electrical terms, that's watts. That is like a bucket full of water - work done.

Amperage is intenity of current or heat.eg.12 volts X 8amps = 96 watts.per hr.of light. 12 volts X 6 amps = 72 watts.

Most typical cylindrical batteries, AAA, AA, C, D are nominally 1.5 volts. A standard AA battery can output in excess of 10 amps for VERY short periods of time, i.e., a few minutes.:

neither, both are relatively small,...you can touch something say a capacitator and recieve 10,000 volts and not get hurt. but if you touch something say your power feed coming into the house at 200 amps you will know it, and if attached long enough will die. amps hurt, but voltage is also relative, hope this gives some kind of real life answer

This depends on the resistance (how much or little the hose is kinked).

This example is the most basic explanation as other factors are involved as well.

Neither are large, but 1 amp will kill you.

they are measurement,s .......they don't measure size or weight............voltage measures the speed of the currant.......amperage measures the raw power of the currant!
