A love so vast and eternal that He loved you enough to let one of His trusted servants go through severe testing that you might gain a better understanding of your own life and of God. The death of Jobs children - the Word says, precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His saints - He doesn't view "death" as we do, it is simply a transition into complete peace and joy without pain or heartache. Job's children were covered by the sacrificial offerings as prescribed by God so they simply went to paradise. Job received twice as much as he had before his "test" started except for his kids - why didn't God double his kids? Because Job hadn't lost the first set - they were in paradise and still belonged to Job, they were still his kids - just in a different place. God saw all - God saw you - and God wrote you a letter. Have you answered it?

Yes Satan knows that God knows the outcome but Satan is a jerk. What else needs to be said.
No God isn't "amused' by anything Satan does.
The point is Job's faithfulness to God made Satan the loser. So the way to defeat that jerk is to have faith in God. That's the moral of the story.

I think Satan knew the outcome too. I think it was more a test of Job's faithfulness to God than testing God. Satan wanted to see, prove that Job would fall away from God. Satan evidently felt that Job's faith wasn't strong enough to take all that had been thrown at him and he'd end up dishonoring God. Satan was wrong. Satan also knows that he is doomed to fail. Satan knows where he will spend eternity, and it ain't in Heaven.

god knows all. he knew satan would do it. the reason he let him live and exist is because he is a test for christians and their faith. say it is like a test, the only purpose he lives is because god wants people to choose him over satan. in revelations, he states in the end, he will exterminate satan and all evil. I dont know satan's way of thinking, but he wanted to make a deal with god and prove that job would curse him. but i know that god would not cheat or change the events.

In order to rebel against God, Satan had to stop believing that God was being truthful, and had to start believing in his own outcome, if you accept the English edited translation of the Latin translation of the Greek edited translation of the Hebrew story....
Otherwise, you could accept that Satan is not opposed to God so much as he is the 'district attorney' in God's courtroom (Jesus is the defense attorney), and we, humankind, are the accused. Job was just one witness.

God's intellect is far beyond ours. Maybe Job was, and of course is still today, a lasting and bright example of what a faithful witness/ minister/ Christian is. Millions have read his story and been strengthened by it.
Satan is the Father of all lies and deciept. Incredible cunning and creative AND POWERFUL, yet he has 0 power over faithful people. he is also incredibly dumb. To think that he could win- against GOD ?! But, he does and will continue to try until the last day. You can see him slowly taking over this world, one person at a time, patiently, until God puts and end to it all- as described in the Book of Revelation, in the Bible.

Hey Tucking,
You like most people today are ignorant of the Word of God. You just read words in the Bible and figure things out in your brain to how they should be. You are far from God in that you neglect to humble yourself before Him when you come to His Word.
When you enter a man's house, you are not in charge there. It is his home, and his home has certain rules that you must follow if you want to stay there with him.
Its no different when you go before God and want knowledge from His Word. So you see Mr. Tucking, you are lacking that what's needed to gain the wisdom of His Word.
The answer to your question is in the volume of the Book, but until you approach the Word with reverence you will get nothing but what you have.><>

i guess yes, though God knows what is ahead, but the book of job suggests that he allows certain things to happen, in this case, bad bad stuff to job.
He allows it, but ultimately He is in control.
God is not the one proving the point, but rather, Satan. Satan wants to bet that this righteous guy called Job will curse God, when all the bad stuff is happening to him...
so i guess, the main point of Job is that, God is in control though it doesn't seem like it, and that there are certain things He allows to happen, but ultimately in control
:)
