i just bought a new "used" grand prix. it has a cd changer in the trunk that seems to be all hooked up and everything, and when i push play, the lights come on that say what track is playing, but i still get the radio. if i turn the radio off, nothing. i've tried hitting every button, like the am/fm, and anything else, but there's nothing that has worked? any ideas?

Some after market CD Changers work via an FM modulator...meaning they play through your FM radio antenna and not directly through the stereo. If this is the case you may not be set up on the right FM frequency for the audio from the CD to play through your system. You could try slowly running through the FM band as your CD is playing and see if you find the right frequency. If you find it, set up a preset for your CD and you're set. If that sounds to complicated then best bet...go to some car audio shop and ask them to check it out and explain the usage to you...if you're Hot you will find someone to do it for no charge...JK. Most shops will help you out if they have the time. You may have to come back when they are a little less busy though.

Is the CD changer an addition ot the existing equipment? There may be a switch somewhere else on the dash that switches between the CD and the radio.
