I am going to an actual court for this. My child opened the strap of her car seat and started to walk in the isle of our van while I was driving. I had to pull over to the side to a bus stop to put her back on her car seat. I consider this as an emergency stop; however, the Police still gave me a hefty $300.00 ticket.

Just tell the Judge what you've written. Unless there's something else, such as refusing to move when an Officer tells you, it seems as though you had justification in stopping temporarily. Sounds like the Judge would dismiss the charges; if not, at least you will have tried. Good luck.

That cop was needing to fulfill his quota for the day and head for the dough-nut shop. Tell the Judge just why you had to stop, this was an emergency for sure.
