Most definitely. Everything is locked in a battle of good and evil. Everyday, we wake up and take on instincts that tell us to be selfish verses being selfless. We fight urges to better our positions at the expense of others, and this is no different at the government level.

What holds us to the path that we know would most benifit all of those around us is our integrity, and that trait is sorely tested in all of us every day.

I think the more prudent question is not whether or not we are locked in a battle of good and evil, but wether or not we are acting with integrity.

This is not a question that we should be ashamed or to proud to ask ourselves, it's one that we should constantly confront, to force ourselves to better not only ourselves, but our communities, and our governments.

The world is in a battle of good and evil. We should learn to mind our own business and make our lives good.
The U.S. is fighting wars with countries that we can never win. The shame is that we pay them to grow and learn, and they end up fighting us. Look at the monies we've given the Arab countries and look what we got back. More fighting, more dead soldiers.
You can only teach those who want to provide for themselves and their kin. Otherwise, we end up supporting them. That's just what we're doing.
We have to smarten up and come home and let these people fend for themselves. Otherwise, we'll have nothing. We're running out of stuff for our own people.
Get a grip.

The limited concept of world as black and white/good and evil with no in between. It really does limit your view of the world. In short, the answer is no.
