i have liked this one guy for many months now but have not ever been sure weather or not he liked me back and i was wondering if any of the following are signs or not any advice would be helpful
one he seems to fidget alot when he talks to me like if we are standing by a locker and he is talking to me he will be playing wiyh the lock or some other thing in his reach and he is a very popular person and i am not at all but he continuasly talks to me but i hate all his freinds and i am positive they hate me back and whenever he sees me he will hold my shoulder or pat my back but not like really gently or anything like that and he always waves to me in a polite way with a smile on his face and no matter how weird i try to act around him and try to see if i can freak him out he just tells his freinds and then starts to talking to me again and lastly once when i was walking out of my school door i turned around and he was watching me walk. If you can help me it would be greatly aprichated

He likes you. The fidgeting and physical contact are dead give-aways by themselves, but the fact that his friends don't like you and he still goes out of his way (even when you're "weird") to say you're 'friends', says it all.

I think he does have a liking towards you but because of the pressure that he get from his friends who don't really likes you,he is try to act cool just incase anyone of them notices it. I guess there is no real way of tell.Thats how all those misunderstanding started. Only way is to ask him directly how he feels about you, as a good friend, a sister, a school mate..... different feeling different out come. why not try asking : Hey I have notice that you have been acting strangely with me around lately, may I know why? Because I really enjoy your accompany and would like to really know your feeling too. If you are to shy for that then you can continue playing the waiting game. If he is really that popular then rest assure that other girl will make their move very soon too and get to show him off : )

It sounds like he likes you...you at least know that he seems to like you as a person. I would say just continue to be his friend and stop trying to freak him out and scare him away! If he does like you, and is not willing to base his decisions on what his friends think, then he will tell you. I think maybe communicating with him outside of school either via phone or email is a good idea. Your excuse can be something basic, maybe something school related. But it will break the ice a little more, and make you more comfortable around each other.

Wow he likes you but, his friends are all over him. I urge you ask him to join you for lunch in the cafeteria or a cup of coffee. A short moment that you both spend time alone then anything will spark. If he is in love with you then your gut will tell you at that moment. If not you can be his friend, and you never know friendship can develop on certain level. Unfortunately, he does not have a quiet moment with you. Since he is popular then his friends will not allow you to be in his life. So far I see his reaction toward you in which I conclude that he really likes you. Do not afraid to ask him to join you for a cup of coffee and act polite. Do not flirt with him. Watch and see I am sure you will win his popular heart. Happy Valentine's Day.

It's been many years since I was in highschool but am a romantic
and would suggest you take notice of his behavior you have
so far given in two situations; when he knows his friends are aware
and when the two of you are alone. This is not a direct answer but
what you discover could lead to the answer.
You could study body language in books or on the web.

Yeah definitely, the question now, is how should you hook up with him, try this, since you guys talk to each other, how about chatting on the internet or something, either on yahoo, or msn, get to know each other better, he would probably ask you out, if he didnt why dont you ask him what are you doing in the weekend, we could hang out...

hmm... u hate his friends? have they done anything terrible to u?
he's popular probably cos he's been nice to everyone... what do u mean by he just tells his friends when u try to act weird around him and then talks to you again? how weird is your weird? has he told his friends to get some advise or let them make fun of you?
you just need to stay cool and calm... be nice to him and his friends as well. it's easy for guys to know which girl likes him... so, perhaps some of your actions tell it all already.
if u r having a big crush on him, just tell him. : ) it doesnt matter whether he likes you or not. have faith in yourself.

From what you stated he likes you and at the same time a bit shy and indescisive about it. If you really like him be more attentive to him and look straight into his eyes while you talk and nature would take care of the rest.

I think they could be signs he likes you but be careful and wait it out until he makes an obvious one.
PS. The whole popular and not thing kinda bugs me about the situation because it reminds me of typical teen movies where the unpopular person is just being used. Please be careful.

I think he like you. I don't watch girls that I don't find interesting. If he is talking to you, that is a good indicator. Why don't you flirt with him a little and give him some encouragement.
