that would be really rude to give your girlfren a poem that did not even come from your heart
i know its hard making a poem, but you dont need to be shakespeare to compose what you really feel inside
tell inside the poem the things you love about her
but also tell the idea, that you love her because you love her, it does not need any explanation
tell her how she inspires you to live
how she makes you become better
of how the two of you grow deeper
and how you are thankful for the chance to meet her
dont make any promises
just tell her what you feel right now, and that she would always mean something more to you
great idea by the way, its nice that you want to give her a poem, just so the poem would really mean something, do it yourself

a love poem is just that, a LOVE poem. a poem expressing your love to someone else. which has to come from your heart. if someone else writes it for you it serves no purpose. just go for it. and trust me even if you do decide to " borrow" someone else's words, your girlfriend will definitely be able to tell. showing her how [you] geniunely feel with give a better impression and be much more appreciated. good luck and i hope you take my advice and follow your heart.
