Most Mormons don't. The few that do are usually from an older generation and still use words like "colored".

Technically there is nothing in Mormon doctrine that teaches that Black people are cursed, its just implied since Black men were banned from having the priesthood until 1978. Many leaders in the Mormon church were actually preaching their oppinions that black skin is due to Cain's sin of murdering his brother Abel.

This banning ended mostly because of the Mormon Church in Brazil. Brazil is so ethnically diverse that they could no longer tell if people were African Black, Amazonian Black, or White but with Black ancestry.

Personally, this was one of the reasons that I officially left the Mormon Church. I sent the headquarters a letter asking to have my name removed from their lists.... they responded with a letter that said "No! You're excommunicated".... Kinda like you trying to quit your job and your employer says "No, you're fired!".

I still have that letter, it makes me laugh. :)

PS: The Mormon church has no child-brides and no polygamy. Be careful of what haters of the Mormon church say, not everything is true.

Though black people were not allowed to hold the priesthood in the Mormon church, they were NOT banned from joining the church itself. In fact there has always been black members since the conception of the church itself.

Recently, historians have been arguing that Joseph Smith Jr. (The founder of Mormonism) acutally ordained 2 black men to the priesthood in 1838. This would imply that the ban on black men started after Joseph Smith and proves that even their "prophets" can lead people astray.

As far as I've been told from my Mormon friends (yes I have mormon friends), the religion teaches that black people are descendants of fallen angels that fell to earth, thus losing their grace and divinity that humans retain. The Cain and Abel thing is what they meant as well, but they used both stories for me.

If there are any mormons here, I'd love to know how accurate (or inaccurate) any of this is. I love to hear about other religions than my own!

I've heard theories of this type before and they haven't all come from Mormons. The Mormon doctrine probably doesn't but maybe certain individuals, who happen to be mormon.

yes, they are the ones, that before earth, lived with their God, they were the spirit children who were neutral in the battle between the Mormon Jesus, and his Mormon brother Satan(devil)
so...they were cursed with having black skin when they came to earth.
