They would have a record of it, however, there is nothing to stop him. In MI they have the MCOLES test, which consist of a written, verbal and physical. As part of the physical agility, there are 32 push-ups they must do and one other is running 1 mile in 4 minutes flat; scale a wall, etc. The written test is for the municipality to insure that each officer who has gone through an academy 'knows' the laws of the state. (That's the hard part, so the memory has to be there) Next is the verbal or oral exam. They repeat some of the questions from the exam; then they also have a psychological portion. Then, they have this spectacular driving test they put us through with speeds up to 60 mph IN REVERSE, to make certain they can control a police unit. They conduct the driver's test at Selfridge ANGB. If you fail one, you fail all. Also have to have blood-work as well as urine testing to make certain you're not on drugs...or even pot. They will test the hair, as well. And pot stays in the follicles for 7 years 'after' you quit smoking it. They also insist you have a clean driving record, no one with previous DUI will be considered and no one with any arrest record will be considered unless they can get it expunged by the state. This would not include any sex crimes. Those who have ever had a conviction for a sex crime or have be a suspect of a sex crime, will not be considered.

He'll have to pass a physical fitness test and a medical physical. If he can pass, he can be hired.
