I know alot of people at my church, including me, got there dresses at David Bridal... I got mine 50% off during a sale, and you can always have a modesty plate put in, its not that expensive if the dress isnt perfectly modest, but alot of times you can find some that are modest. Mine wasnt really, now that I look back on it, but I thought it was then, so be careful :) And good luck, and congratulations on getting married! HOW FUN!!

Look on Dessy.com . Their after six collection has some really pretty, simple dresses. Dessy isn't a store by itself, it'a a collection sold in various independent bridal stores, as well as larger retailers such as macy's bridal. The store locator can tell you where to find a store near you that carries the collection.

I got mine at Jessica McClintock for under $250. Be careful with David's Bridal. I had a very bad experience there, as did my friend (they sold her pre-ordered and dyed bridesmaid shoes to someone else).

There are a lot of different styles available now, but if you have a friend who sews, you might be able to have greater control and also control the cost.

Enjoy
