The point is God Created us and want to commune and spend time with thats why we read the Bible and pray, but also because he gave his son Jesus to die on the cross and take upon Him all the sins of the world. Only by believing and trusting in him can we gain Eternal Life and go to Heaven. You can't get to Heaven by good works so how can you live a life free from God and religion it doesnt make sense.

Little story of a fisherman who went one early morning before the sun came out. When he cast his net, he found a load. And when he checked it up on the darkness, he found that they were little pieces of stone. So he lamented his faith and he started throwing stone after stone into the water. But when he was about to cast the last few stones, the sun came out in all its glory and suddenly he saw that what he was throwing out into the sea was not a stone but was a precious pearl. Therefore in the darkness of ignorance, he was casting away pearls thinking that it was stones. It was only in the light that he ultimately saw reality and then he lamented his faith, that all the darkness, which had gone by in the previous time, had been wasted and he had given away some thing so precious.

The point is you are suffering and if you say you are not then you are in illusion (Maya) and you will ultimately die. It gives hope, it brings happiness. I have joy,peace of mind. I could go on and on.Why not believe in God? Why not have Religion? I assure you I'd never tell you to be afraid of hellfire and damnation! I want people to come to God out of love.Not out of fear.
