Doctor ordered gr 1/2 of medicine.
On hand is 0.005 grams tablet.
How many tablets (or parts of) will you administer?

the "gr 1/2" is 1/2 grain, that is how the medical profession writes it...this is on a worksheet

0.5 is half a gram, I don't understand the "gr" part of the 1/2 that he ordered...Call and ask the doctor!! (If you can't get ahold of him noe, give 1 tab., 0.005 is a very small dose, and he would not have given those to be cut in pieces to give).

gr 1=60mg
gr 1/2=30mg

1000mg=1gram
Thus, 0.005 grams tablet=5mg tablet

Thus, as per the doctor's orders, the number of tablets to be administered=

30mg/5mg= 6 tablets
