Most likely, NO. I believe the filing threshold for Single is $8450 and the lowest of any status is around $3000.
In fact a lot of people who actually have income don't have to file, but they do for refunds, Earned Income Credits,etc.

You do not have to. However, depending upon your circumstances, you may be eligible for tax credits, e.g., earned income tax credit. If so, it may be in your best interest to file - it's money coming to you.
