I am recently divorced and went on my first date in 7 yrs on Sunday. I had lunch with her, she asked me to hang with her for the afternoon, then we had dinner too. At the end of the date we hugged and went on our way. Then she emailed me the next day with a very generic email which was nice, but nothing too deep. I really liked her and want to do something cool / original. My question is would it be weird if I got her a valentines day gift and sent it to her work and if so....what wouldn't scare her off? Thanks!

She would run for the hills, cause a crazy man is stalking her. V-Day is for lovers not someone you had one lunch with. Take it slow and remember V-Day comes around every year.

Don't think she would be scared off unless she's just not into the whole Valentine's thing. But I would def keep it simple & go with the candle idea maybe a simple bouquet of flowers nothing over the top or some candy, stores are full of small but thoughtfull gifts like what you would buy a co-worker,teacher ect.
I'm sure she will be pleasantly surprised

Not weird.
Won't scare her off.

Women love attention!!! I know I do. :)

Stick with a common gift like chocolates, a small bouquet of flowers, a teddy bear, etc. I would even say go so far as a gift certificate for a dinner and a movie so you guys can go on your next date! ;)

Have fun and don't get serious too fast after the recent breakup.

You could send her flowers to work...but nothing extravagant, a small arrangements not a dozen of red roses.
Or you can take her for dinner, if she goes with you on Valentine's day is a good sign.
Good Luck, and Happy Valentine's day

NO! Don't send her anything, especially since her email was generic and not very personal. Don't you get the message? Either she is not very interested, not very interested yet, or she wants to take things slow. So anything you get her would violate those goals. LISTEN when she is talking. You get her a gift and it will look desperate! I promise!

I'm an expert at NOT getting attached and what you are contemplating is the number one mistake men make and one that would cause me to drop you immediately.

If she does like you, you will have many opportunities to express yourself. Err on the side of caution.

Something small.
A card and some flowers or a little (small) box of chocolates.

You don't want to come off like Santa Claus or Cupid.
You had one date and that's great. The small gesture will show your affections but you don't want to come on to strong

Don't sent anything to work - that's for people who are really a thing. A casual or funny card and a SMALL candy thing would be fine.

Buy a nice smelling candle, medium size, and put it in one of those decorative bags with tissue. Give that to her and don't get her a card. This is what would be most appropriate.
