Cats shed all year round.
You just think he sheds during the warmer months because there's more of the winter coat to lose.
Furthermore, if it is warm in the house, he has no reason to keep a thick coat.. It's simply the cat's own body making adjustments to keep comfortable..

animals shed fur when the days are longer and grow fur when the days are shorter. try keeping the lights lower in the evening so kitty brain thinks it is still winter. artificial lite makes catbrain think the season is time to shed.
add some wet food to kitty diet--i use cod liver oil--unflavored--add 2-3 drops to the 3 ounce can of wet food to improve coat condition. works well. too much oil will, however, cause loosening of the bowels. keep oil additive to 2-3 drops for adult kitty of about 8 pounds. kittens i only give 1 drop.
watch the use of light in room kitty is in after dark--let kitty grow more fur. brush kitty every day to minimize the amount of fur in the air and around the house.
have fun with kitty...

shedding, when its cold outside, is a sign of malnutriton. Try switching his/her food to something more healthier, like Iams, if you cat is older, swith his food to a diet of cat food made for senior/older cats, if that doesn't work see a vet.
