In other words, how should I celebrate my newfound freedom?

By all means celebrate. That being said many women who've had relationships like that tend to find another just like it. Take some time for YOU and get some clarity on why you were attracted to him in the first place. Think about when you began to realize it was a problem so you will be conscious of these things in the future. You need to get to really know yourself better. What you need right now is some time to spoil yourself a little. Buy some flowers to put on your table, take long baths with candles, get a beautiful journal and write your thoughts, do something creative. If you can't draw or paint make a simple mosaic or try your hand at a craft you like the look of. Get some gorgeous posters to hang in your bedroom. It can also be therapeutic to make a collage. Get some magazines and cut out any pictures that catch your eye and glue the on some poster board. You may be surprised what you come up with. It often brings things out that need to be addressed and you weren't even aware of them. Give it a try!

Thank your lucky stars that the a$$ is gone. Don't jump into any new relationships. Enjoy, relax, maybe go on a girls vacation. Be relieved and happy.
