Some airlines do indeed test prospective employees for HIV. The rationale is, if there is a catastrophe of some sort, it is potentially possible for the transmission of the disease to occur via blood to blood exposure. It is up the the airline whether or not periodic post-HIV screening takes place. They cannot refuse to hire you (at least in America, under the provisions of the ADA) but they do ask you about HIV status and DO test you as part of their employment physicals. If you are HIV positive and do not disclose your status, then you have lied on your job application and they can refuse to hire you. If you have already been offered a job and test positive after the fact, they cannot dismiss you.
