I would suggest that your ring around to your local vet offices and ask what the price would be. Make a list and see who is offering the best price. Then you can set up your appointment.
I'm happy to see that you are bringing your puppy in for a check-up. That is awesome.
Just remember though that there could be additional costs if your puppy needs any medication, tests, or shots. But, most vet offices do offer a payment plan. So, you can ask about that.
Good luck with your new pup!

Why on earth would u want to get a puppy if ya cant afford to take care of it? A puppy should be dewormed, have a blood test for parvo heartworm etc...a thorough check up ears mouth eyes, just like a complete physical in humans. A series of immunizations are required as the dog ages.(some are required annually) as is a city dog license , food costs a bundle and when they get older and/or develop a disease or chronic condition, it can devastate a budget. But by this time, u love the little thing so much u will mortgage the house, sell ur soul anything to keep it alive. then ya gotta bury it euthinasia or natural. if ya get it creamated it is expensive too dependin on weight etc... in other words a pet will be an expensive addition to anyones budget. i am really not trying to disuade u from having a pup, i just know from experience it is hell on earth to watch a beloved pet dieing and not have the money to get the needed surgery or treatment so they have to be put down. Honestly, a dog can give u soooo much more than u could ever buy, but ya want to be prepared for a lifelong commitment of money, love, time and your heart.

Usually just a check up is $20, but if your puppy needs shots, to be dewormed, or anything else the price will go up. I would expect to spend around $100, but you have to call the vet to know exactly.

the best bet is to call around to the different vets in your town...find the best one...there are some that have first time puppy owner programs, check into that, (try petsmart vet. i think it is called vetsmart) it doesnt usually cost more than the exam or office fee, unless the pup is old enough to begin vaccinations and worming...the fees for these vary between vets. also, check with your aspca to see if there is a program for low income families for the vaccinations and spay/neutering and possibly even general vet care...you never know what is available to you until you ask around.

I suggest you break out the yellow pages for your area and make some calls asking the prices of some in your area. My vet is really inexpensive, but really good and there are some here who charge double, but not nearly as good in my opinion. Another good resource is your family and friends with pets. Ask who they go to and about prices. You can get a good idea of what the vet they use is like too. Personally, I don't like the vet who treats my dog like he's just "processing". I prefer to have one who shows a sincere interest and actually has a love for animals. Thankfully, mine is great like that!

Banfield-the hospital part of most PetsMart stores- is about $25 per visit. And then, yes, if the dog needs shots, the price will go up. But, Banfield also has a "Wellness" program. You pay for it monthyl and get great benefits like free vet visits, 50% off of medications, free shots, free spay/neuter, etc., so ask them about that. Also, if you happened to get the puppy from a shelter, you may ask them if they know of any clinics that offer free or discounted services.
best of luck with your new baby!!!

it depends on the vet but you should be prepared to pay out a few hundred dollars a year for vet visits. Your new puppy is going to need shots, get neutered and then there are any emergencies which usually pop up.

u should call & get different quotes from the vets in ur area. i also recommend getting pet insurance (costs @ $20/mo). it beats paying high vet bills if ur puppy gets sick.
