The best cause of action to stop nosebleeds is to pinch the soft fleshy part of the nose just above the nostrils for 10 minutes whilst leaning forwards. DO NOT tilt your head back as this will cause the blood to flow down your neck and into your stomach making you sick. If that doesn't work then try it again for another 10 minutes. It the bleeding still persists then go to A&E and seek medical advice.

DO NOT tilt your head back. That will cause the blood to pool back. What you want to do is lean foreward and pinch the nose for fifteen seconds. Breathe through your mouth. If this doesn't work, try it again. If it does not work after this call 911.

Pinch the top of your nose, but DO NOT bend you head back, it can cause you to aspirate on your own blood. You should bend your head slightly foward. I have heard of people putting ice one their nose but i doubt that that will work.
