I eat beef jerky daily, and it is the tastiest snack that man could come up with. That's the problem...the junk they have at convenience stores/wal-mart is highly processed and preserved...plus it tastes like hot dog refuse. Real beef jerky is home made or made by people who know what they hell they are doing. When it's done right, you get all the flavor of a fine steak, only tougher, thinner, and more savory. It's the perfect way to get a ton of protein and energy when you're out working. Don't turn up your nose at all jerky, sample some when you come across something that looks good (i.e. try something that doesn't come in a plastic zipper pouch with a sodium packet for "added freshness"). Try the real thing, or make it yourself.

Most buy this product on impulse and are disappointed on the product they receive. They never align themsleves with a brand (slim jim, pemmican, oberto, jack links, etc...) becasue they all are terrible.
There are some manufacturers that aren't in this business to get every penny of margin from you and actually pride themselves on making a high quality, gourmet product.
Check out www.toxictommy.com
You will find these products to be some of the best available for jerky, smoked meats and gourmet popcorn.

Yes. Or it would not be there.
I don't want to make you ill, but somebody eats all those yellow marshmallow chicks and pink marshmallow bunnies every Easter, too.
Everything that every store sells is there because somebody is buying it regularly, or the store would disappear.
PS: I'll take beef jerky over the marshmellow chicks anytime...

i do...every once in a while. not a fan of slim jims, too greasy...and the stuff in the jar doesn't look like it would be too great...i can't tell you off the top of my head the name of the brands i do prefer...but there are a few that are actually good...i've never had the chance to eat homemade beef or deer jerky, but if given the chance i would try it...

I eat beef jerky all the time. Maybe it just has to do with were you live or grew up. I live in Idaho, which probably explains it all. I love jerky. Everyone around her eats it.

I fell off the vegetarian wagon some time ago. Bacon did it (darn it!) and no, I did not become ill, although I've never liked or been able to eat red meat, and seldom eat pork. I eat poultry and seafood mostly. I did gain weight a little bit 2-3 pounds, but I lost them once my body got used to it. I gained more weight when I became a vegetarian, and there too, I lost it when I got used to it. Good luck

I know what you mean. I only eat jerky that I order from this site. It's organic and way better tasting than anything I used to get from the store.

You betcha...it's a great tasting protein snack, but get the good stuff (not your local gas station). You can get organic jerky (no chemicals, grass-fed beef) right to your doorstep:
