What is the cause of thoughts & beliefs?

It is the effect you need to consider... what effect do you allow the thoughts to have? Inside of you is the truth you just need to let go of all the thoughts and beliefs so that you might come to know it. Then you can see what causes the thoughts and beliefs and the effects they have.

no! arent thoughts and beliefs part of what makes you you? the cause is to simply have something to believe in and a thought could be a reaction or just a wonder, etc. thinking is the most substancial thing a human being can do!

Thoughts and believes are in the realm of the mind.The mind is constantly changing but that which is prior to the mind which must be present for the mind to be is the changless self always constant aslo called consciousness.The sense of presence. remembering and forgetting is all in the mind.Which is influenced by what we read,see,hear,smell, taste and feel. Even if one forget the truth of oneself.Its always there.without which the body is nothing but a corpse and have to be got ride of immeadiatly.

no that is ridiculous question because the thoughts & beliefs are all about ones self and the random subjects pulled up are just what outsiders see first and they dont know about what that is. Those random parts of my church are meaningful in different ways all which relate to oneself. i hate doing religion yahoo answers because no one listens but hey, whatever. im being honest about this.

I think everything comes from truth if you seek truth and let it be truth that makes your thoughts and beliefs

What is truth? At times we come to believe things due to our social conditioning, but it is wise to 'search' for ourselves and have a reason for accepting and defending that which we believe
