I think it is better for Muslim countries to lean toward communists than predatory west. What about You?

Cold war was a big protector that safe guarded many weaker nations from powerful nations. The collapse of Soviet Union is the reason for present world disorder. If Russia is once more strengthened, we can expect better peace in the world. “If you want peace, prepare for war!”.

You've got a good point. It is sad to think that the roles of the former Cold-War superpowers had interchanged. The world now perceives the U.S. as the bad guy, fomenting conflicts and troubles in many regions, while Russia is now perceived as the good guy, speaking of peace and cooperation between nations.

I believe that you are, unfortunately, quite misinformed about the west. We are not predatory by nature, but our government has placed our image in a position that makes us seem that way. It is okay, however, since I feel that we in the west have been quite misinformed about the Muslims in general, as well. Though it is of course impossible to change an individual's concept of an entire group of people in a few words on a computer, I feel compelled to at least attempt to do so, anyway.

Though the media shows otherwise, most people in the west (I am an American) hold no animosity toward the Muslim world. I am one among many who have numerous Muslim friends, and believe them to be decent, hard working, honest, and peaceful people for which I cherish their friendship. I am certain that if many of these Muslims who have regular contact with us real "Westerners" were asked, they would say basically the same thing about us - that a good proportion of us are not evil or predatory at all.

In short, there is a common thread which runs through all humanity, and that seems to be that we all have many things in common with one another regardless of our religious beliefs, color of our skin, or geographic locations. We, just like you, are decent, hard working, honest, and peaceful people who desire peace, happiness, and security for ourselves and our loved ones, as well as those throughout the world. And Muslims who live their lives according to the beautiful teachings of their religion, desire the same for themselves and others...

Yet there are those within the masses of both the Middle East and the West who feel we must all live as they do because they feel they have the answer to all of the world's problems. Unfortunately, however, by imposing their thoughts and desires on the rest of us through terrorism or military action, they cause only sadness, pain, and death, and the human species is diminished by their selfish actions. Until we learn to accept one another's differences and put a halt to this insanity, we will as a species simply be bringing an end to our existence in small increments until there is nothing left.

It doesn't have to be that way, however, and it is forums like this in which we must participate so all the ignorance concerning one another will disappear. Perhaps as individuals we can make a small difference, and if we unite together we can change the world!

First of all it wasn't peace and what makes you think Islamic nations would be willing to lie down with a communist country. Personally I don't see that happening after all they are all about their religion whereas communism is anti-religion. And just how free were those countries under Soviet control I'll bet not many want to go back to the "Good ole days"

Totally wrong but interesting.

The existence of a monstrous statist right-wing Soviet Empire--pretending to be socialist--destabilized the neighboring Near East, central Europe and a dozen countries its armies and secret police formerly dominated.

The United States is an equally bad model realistically speaking--but to equate our awful government with Soviet badness is ridiculous...they were overt gangsters; we are covert. And Near Eastern parody nations are already imitating the worst aspects of communism, not us. How much worse could they be trying elections, female rights and some freedom for those over 21 to speak their own minds.

Ceratinly not. IF USSR was the guardian angel why did it attack muslims in Afghanistan?.Muslims should learn to be moderate.
They should understand that their lives are more important than the tiny strip of land called palestine. with the oil wealth they can produce 100 palestines.They are socially backward and culturally

Most of the Middle East did gravitate towards communist Russia during their nationalist phases. That was the deciding factor on bringing the U.S. and Israel together as allies. They were not the best of friends until Arab nations began aligning themselves with Russia. The U.S. joined sides with the enemies of their enemies friends.
