Muslims have gotten a bad rap since the Crusades. It is however the worse of those that call themselves Muslims that give the rest a bad name, just like the Christian Right gives most real Christians a bad name.
There is a lot of bashing because a lot of people would rather take someones else's word what Islam means than to actually do the research.
Same thing happened in the early 19th century with Black people, Chinese, and a lot of non European peoples ................... Oh wait, that's still going on too!
Look at most of the stereotypes, most of them have no real fact to back them up, yet people continue to believe them, teach them to their kids, make up stupid jokes based on them, etc.

Well, let's see. They kill Gay people with impunity. They kill innocent people in random places with impunity. They kill non believers with impunity. They kidnap journaists, humanitarian workers. The blow up trains, planes and automobiles. They say Jesus is not the Son of God and didn't die on the cross and they say Christians are Blaphemers. They hate Zionists. They want to wipe out Israel. They want you to wear a veil. If you're a normal western girl one of their Clerics have said you are nothing but a piece of meat who askes to get raped, of course rapes occur in their nations and often the victims are punished as well as the rapists, Hindus, Christians, Jews, Buddhists and other religionis are taxed in some of their nations. They are out trying to dominate the world and have their religion as exclusive and wipe out all others. The main prophet married a girl who was six years old and he mated her at the age of nine. He was also married to at least 4 women at the same time. And they insist YOU and everyone else must PRAISE him! They allow husbands to beat their wives. And the strangest thing of all is they'll generally ADMIT all of this is basically correct, except we don't understand why it is so and why it is all allowed and all considered normal to do.
Other than that we have no problems with them.

Muslims are now where Christianity was not all that long ago. Remember the crusades, inquisitions etc. A belief in conversion by the sword. Even Muslims fear for their lives by the infidel label, as Christians feared the heretic label.

Many people bash Muslims with words here at YA. Many Muslims bash people with suicide bombs and sharp blades out in the rest of the otherwise civilized world. Words don't break bones and blood vessels quite the same way as bombs and blades do.
The verbal bashers are just looking for a less violent way to express their disdain for radical Muslim violence.
My 2 cents.

You know that ole American saying, "It takes a few rotten apples to ruin the barrel." I am not racist now. Now when the koran is mishandled by soldiers Muslims scream and shout, even in this country. But let a American soldier get his head decapitated and I did not hear any Muslims scream and shouting that is was wrong. Hmmm, I wonder what is wrong here. Do as I say and not do as I do.

US government created the story of Islamic terrorist to find a reason for the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and any rich country with oil
so US creates reasons to fight Islam just for political reasons

Well i do not really hate Muslims per se. But I think that my life expectancy in a Muslim ruled country would definitely be shorter than a Muslim in a christian country.

i don't hate them. but yes people should learn tolerance for other human being, I'm not perfect myself, but I think that's what happens, and it just happens a lot on Yahoo R&S
the muslims also bash on other religions, there are the ones who want to kill us too remember 9-11-01? muslims...all of them.

Muslims kill people, Muslims kill people while killing themselves, Muslims caused 9/11 and other terrorist attacks. Not all Muslims are bad but many are. The religion is taught to kill all who does not follow Allah.

I think you meant Bashing. I think people fear what they do not understand. In their own fear it is easier to lash out, rather than find things that make them human. No matter what culture they are.
