of a loved one, and one life is spared, while the other is not, is God not being rather arbitrary?

My point is that I am challenging the idea of prayer "working".

God does things according to His will. Sometimes he answers a prayer to give one faith and sometimes he does not to test ones faith. It depends on their spiritual advancement. Also If it is not His will for that person to live it doesn't matter how many people pray. Do you know the prayer. "To what prupose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me saith the Lord, I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and fat of fed beasts, and I delight not in the blood of bulls and cows, and lambs and goats, When ye spread forth your hands, I will hide Mine eyes from you when ye make many prayers, I will not hear, for your hands are full of blood." Isaiah 1:11, 15
"To killeth an ox is as if he slew a man." Isaiah 66:3
If one eats meat they support animal slaughter and that leads to all kinds of suffering and death. So Why blame God for not answering when He says what to do and what not to do. Yet even those who follow this religion of Christianity don't follow His teachings.

Don't even look at it arbitrarily, but who's to say whether or not one Family member is saved, and the other isn't, and he's giving one a little more time to get it right? Or maybe one has endured enough pain and suffering in this life and he's freeing them from it. In terms of GOD and the way he does things, i've come to understand that all his ways are just and Righteous.

God knows best, maybe if he still lived on, he might live a life of pain and sufferings
