'95 Ford Windstar- can't find the book- the red light with a "dropper" came on and I don't THINK it's oil, I think it's something else but am not sure what......any help is appreciated!

I went out to restart it just to make sure- it's yellow (the light) and the symbol looks like the long stick you pull out to check oil, but it's not the "oil" light - ??

The above link is to the complete owners manual for a 1996 Windstar. Fords website lets you download owners manuals, but it only goes back to 1996. In the case of the Windstar, the guages should be pretty much the same for 1995 & 1996.
The chapter about guages & lights starts on page 65

I don't see one that looks like what you are describing.
a "dropper" or a "stick"
You can review the whole manual here though & see if there's a symbol that looks like whatever it is you're trying to describe.

Hope this helps'

Call your local Ford dealer they should be able to tell you. To be on the safe side check your oil. I'm not trying to belittle you but in case you don't know how to do that:
* Before you start make sure the engine is off and has been sitting on a level surface for at lest 2 min then
1 raise the hood of your van
2 look for a Handel that says engine oil , or runs down to the bottom of your engine, the Yellow stick is your transmission fluid
3 Pull the stick out and wipe
4 reinsert stick
5 pull stick out again, the oil should be between your high and low mark on your stick
6 reinsert stick and gently lower your hood
I hope that helped

If it's yellow its not that important.
Air Bag light
Low tire light
Fuel cap light
Low washer fluid light
Low coolant light
If it's red its important
Oil light
Alternator light
Red light with a drop means low oil pressure
Red light with 2 droppers means alternator

It is for the oil pressure. Check the oil level and if that doesn't turn it off, you'll have to figure out why it has low oil pressure or take it to someone who can. If you operate the vehicle too much with low oil pressure, it can destroy the engine. I'm not trying to scare you, just warning you so you don't spend more money than you have to.

i own a repair shop, and you need to find some one who has a owners manual,or a vehicle like this,or call a dealer they can tell you in a minute, and you need to find the book and put it back in the car where it belongs, you should never remove the owners manual from a vehicle, good luck,i hope this help,s.,,PS call a dealer this is the fastest and best way to find out what this is.
