thanks for the concern, but i'm pretty sure this is an allergic reaction (my eye always swells when i'm allergic to something).

Have you tried a cold pack? Ice the eye for 5 minutes. This usually helps a lot.
I do know another quick remedy, but it's a little startling. Take 100 to 200 mg of niacin (not niacinamide), preferably not with food. It will cause an abrupt release of histamines in the body, you will flush red and hot all over for a few minutes, and then it's over. There won't be enough histamine left to sustain an allergic reaction, until it builds up again.
I do this every now and then when I have an allergic reaction that doesn't respond to antihistamines. You can't do it routinely because your body develops a tolerance to niacin.
Claritin is an antihistamine that doesn't cause drowsiness.

Bulging eyes is not an allergic reaction. However; if that is what you are convinced is happening take 50mg of Benadryl.

Benadryl for the itching, NO HOT SHOWERS!, bath in oatmeal. Pat skin dry, apply baby lotion to your body, non-allergic type of stuff you use

Benedryl or another anti-histamine should help. If not, I would see a doctor.
