Your soul is what makes you unique. The devil doesn't want or need your soul. That's from movies, etc. It's just trippy junk to scare people.

The devil can work his evil only though those whose souls are compromised. In fact, every day, the unadulterated evil around us proves this. When {insert random despicable act} happens, it hurts us all. Some people are willing participants in these things, it are these who have abandoned the truth, and now do evil.
Don't expect to see a physical devil, he does not work that way. He is a tempter and a perverter,
"The Mystery of Iniquity doth already work: only he who letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.
EVEN HIM, after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." -2 Thessalonians:7-10

Because God banished him to hell & he wants to retaliate. He knows how much God loves us & desires a relationship with us. That is very evident by the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. If he can a soul away from Him he sees it as a victory. Besides it's kind of an "I'm not going down alone" attitude. He knows he messed up & he's banished but he doesn't want to take the fall alone.

Our souls are what's special. Man was originally made in God's image. Sin distorted that image. Our duty is to clear it up again. Satan wants us to die with a distorted soul so we can't be with God when we give up the flesh.

To use it for his control. He wants to take as many souls with him to hell, so he can make a mockery of God. He doesn't care about your soul in any way, shape or form.
To mock God's creation.

Because the devils job is to be better than God . He wants to be God. But it will never happen because GOD will win no matter what!

Well, this was added so that really bad people could claim their souls were taken by Satan, and Christians would excuse their actions....

It is not that satan wants your soul just in of itself, but that He wants to hurt God as much as possible. He knows that God highly values you and loves you and that you are made in the image of God - so he hates you and wants to destroy you. He hates God so much that he will do anything to destroy you since you are the very "apple of God's eye." God loves you, He died for you, He rose for you, He calls you, He desires your fellowship - that is why you are satan's target. He gets to hurt God through you.
