I know a guy not real well. But I would like to ask him to go to a wedding with me, so basically, I would drive, and of course there would be dinner and cake there so basically he wouldn't have to pay for anything. I have no one else to ask. In case he says no, can I pay him to go with me, and if so how much?

I have no one to ask at all besides him, and it's my best friend's wedding from out of town.

It is better to go alone than to lower yourself to paying somebody to go with you... if you enjoy this person's company, and he is a decent human being, he will go along and treat you well.

If you go alone, don't go with a droopy face, dress and groom for your best look, smile, talk to old people, dance with your best friend's cousins and uncles, and bring a carefully chosen gift, and speak kindly to her mother and grandmother.

Is it an open bar? I find it hard to believe that a guy wouldn't want to go and party. I'll bet if you ask him he will say yes. Guys like to be persued. If he does say no, I'll bet he would do it for $50. Then for sure there would be no strings. Actually, if your nervous about asking him maybe as an ice breaker offer him $50 first. Then that takes the pressure off you. You will both get a laugh and go to the wedding. Good luck! Where is the wedding?

Don't offer to pay, I would find it demeaning. If you want the company remind him that weddings are often a good place to get laid...crude maybe but it should be effective. And if he declines on both pffers (first being, just to accompany you) than go stag.

don't pay him! just explain that you're nervous and you know it might be a little wierd but would he do you this favor. Or if he's not available maybe your best friend or her hubbie-to be has a guy to set you up with?
