my girlfriend just had her 19th birthday a few months ago...if she actually likes roses get her roses. otherwise find out her actual favorite flower. get her a dozen or something, the number honestly doesnt matter, then get her one extra and sprinkle the pedels on her bed. spend some time thinking about what she wants and needs, and get her something special

i agree. although the idea is nice. roses are so predictable.
I think you should get her something unique and exotic that people normally wouldnt think of.
I think that a single flower, is romantic because a) you picked that one out specially b) get her something that represents her
an awesome flower is an Orchid, or a lily...and something really neat is a Bird of Paradise..and they last a long time. have a look, search "bird of paradise" under yahoo images.
Im speaking from a girls perspective, and when you give it to her, tell her something cute why you think that matches her personality. goodluck

If you are loaded, 1 for each year-otherwise even a half dozen gorgeous ones with a lot of filler,i.e baby breath(tiny white flowers) and fern, or a dozen with same fillers. Sometimes one simple gorgeous one says "love"-frankly,my husband always gets from a half dozen to a dozen for all occasions and we have been married for 62 years.
But beware-if you start out "big" she may expect it always to be that-if she really loves you,she won't care if it is one rose-it is the thought behind it and she would not want you to go overboard financially (they are not inexpensive)-if you can not afford it.

I would say 19 (makes sense for her 19th b-day :)) and give her in addition another color of roses for the # of months you have been with her. Ex. if you have been with her for 6 months, give her 6 roses in another color or her fave. flower... she will love it

just go to a shop and pick out what you think she would like,i dont think there is a certin amount that should be bought. the truth is when i get roses it doesnt matter if its 1 or 100, i still feel the same about my guy.
