Just asking. I used to be gin and juice, but calories tranfered me to gin and Gatorade about a year ago. Anyone else?

Are there ramifications? I've heard that Gatorade is bad if your aren't dehydrated and you can get too many electrolytes, but aren't you dehydrated when drinking anyway?

I mix Gatorade with liquor all the time. It actually is a very good substitute for mixers if you ask me. If you're worried about taking in too much from Gatorade, use the Gatorade Rain line of products - they are basically the "diet" version of Gatorade and taste better if you ask me. But if you're drinking, I don't think it really matters... using soda is going to be just as bad if not worse. And yes, alcohol does dehydrate you, so Gatorade makes an even better choice :)

If you're using gatorade to mix with liquor I assume that you're drinking to get drunk, in which case gatorade is an excellent choice because the electrolytes cause the alcohol to get into your system faster. Thats why Jager Bombs (Jagermeister and red bull) are so popular. Plus its not a bad mixer. However, if you're just drinking to relax there are way better mixers out there than gatorade. I recommend trying a gin fizz if you haven't. As for gatorade being dangerous becuase of too many electrolytes thats simply not true.

I mix mine with gatorade when I'm backpacking. I like it actually; I usually use vodka, or 151. mmm, nothin' like a good cocktail after a long day on the trail.
