Depends on the warrant. If a detective working a case has filed a warrant request to pick you up, then he or she will very likely attempt to serve it as soon as it is issued. If a warrant is automatically issued because you failed to show up in court, failed to pay a fine or ticket, or something of that nature, then generally it will not be served on the same day. It basically gets added to a list of warrants that are served in order of priority and the manpower available to serve them.

Despite what some people think yes warrants are sometimes served the same day they are issued. It just depends on what the warrant is for and whether or not the proper authorities have the time to come and get you. They will come looking for you at your house or your place of employment if necessary.

Not usually. When I was pregnant, I was staying at my parents house...it was New Years Day, and a police officer was waking us all up to serve me with a warrant that I had cleared long ago...it was a mistake, but boy did it take him a while to try and get me...yes, they knock on your door at home....

It depends on the type of warrant and how serious the offense is. They will come to your home and knock also. They will also search the house if someone says you are not there. Another factor is the size of your town. Smaller towns seem to serve them faster than larger cities.
