Prices are around 12k. MPG is excellent. Comes standard with a pretty good ammount of stuff.

However, I think it is horrible for any college student. Even more so for a 6'6 male. Compare it to a VW beetle, complete chick car and small.

Reason why I recommend against for any college student is price. a little over 12k for a standard model with no add-ons and a manual tranny. Insurance will be a pretty penny too, not as much as a mercedes or a corvette, but it is a new car.

A used car, such as a toyota camry if you want to stay in the toyota line, would be great. You could find a nice one for around 5k, with no problems, insurance will be nothing, and it will be bigger/more comfortable/more powerful than the yaris. MPG will be down but you'll make the difference in the money you saved not buying a new car.

It has a lot of head room, but not that much leg room. The car is reliable and good, the backseat of the 2 door is almost useless. The 4 door is great, but "ugly / plain". The Honda Fit is another great choice again not a lot of leg room, the Scion xB is GREAT for a tall person, and pretty cool too. I would look at the Scion xB.

They all vary a lot on the price, they advertise $13,000 but it's not realistic. By the time you get a car with the modern "normal" features (power windows, automatic, etc.) it's $17k - $18k

6'6... It is too small for you.. You need a Nissan Versa or Sentra, or a Ford Focus.. all are larger and get good mileage. I have a Focus ZX3 hatch.. 2007 is the last year you can get one..Lots of headroom, adjustable height seat, fun to drive, and shares lots of parts with the Mazda 3..
