Is that even possible? Once I substituted with margarine/butter. I don't know what to do NOW...

Definitely possible! You can substitute applesauce for most of the oil or margerine in a recipe. Or you can rehydrate some dried fruit, like figs or raisins, puree them, and add them in place of the oil. Keeps it moist and using this technique you can also reduce the amount of sugar needed in the recipe. Happy cooking!

apple sauce or prune puree

Prune Puree

Use in the same way as applesauce: Puree 1/2 cup of pitted prunes with 1/4 cup of water. You will want to reduce the amount used, or the final product may be too moist. If the recipe calls for a half cup use 1/3 cup instead. You may also want to add a little oil, maybe a tablespoon per cup of fat needed, because a little fat goes a long way in taste and texture.

you are able to on occasion substitute Egg Beaters (an egg substitute) that doesn't easily comprise eggs. Or, I even have heard that applesauce is a sturdy option and lots decrease in fat curiously. The egg commonly acts as a binder so it is significant interior the recipe. additionally, i might Google something like egg-unfastened cake or the equivalent, I guess you get quite a few tricks that way. good success to you!
