You could do pink! Do pink and brown or like a hot pink and bright orange & lots of bold pretty girlie colors. I love the color pink. As long as you put it with another color you can use it year round. Do a light pink and a slightly darker pink and brown or black...your options are really endless. I promise.
Good luck!!!

OK listen to me, months do not have any bearing on colour, you should just choose whatever colour you like the best, weddings these days are all about what the couple want, rather than worrying about tradition etc. So choose a gorgeous pink, that's perfect. The only thing to consider about months is the style of the dress, rather than the colour. For example, if it is summer have a dress made of a lighter material, in winter go for velvets etc...please don't think that just because it is late summer that pink would not be appropriate, that's just silly.

You could pair pink with silver in the winter, other pastels in the spring; a brighter pink mid-summer. In August you aren't really locked into any season color so you ought not to have any problem.

You could pair pink with a burgandy or dark brown. You could even pair it with a milk chocolate. Grey works well with pink, too, as does certain shades of green. And black would work.

If you have trouble picturing what colors work best together, take a trip to a fabric store like Joann's. Put the colors together til something makes you go, "That's it!"

Pink would be lovely. I love August for a wedding, although it is still summer, it usually gets cooler, especially towards the end. I would say you could still use pink and maybe like aqua, that would be pretty. My colors are coral and aqua, love them. Don't do brown though, that is a color scheme popular now but won't be when you look back at your pics. Have fun!

For my August wedding ceremony I went with royal blue, silver and white. My sister even have been given married in August and had a floral subject, so she did no longer have any particular hues. The bridesmaids wore the comparable actual and had periwinkle, sage and soft crimson skirts that have been offered as seperates from David's Bridal.

I'm getting married in August and I'm going with Cobalt Blue and Lilac as my colors. :) They are just my favorite colors, and the colors I always pictured at my wedding. If pink is what you've always wanted, then go with it! It's your day, it should be how you want it!

Honey, it is your wedding and you should go with whatever YOU want. The florist can help you choose August flowers that will go with whatever shade of pink you choose. You will have those pictures and memories for a lifetime, so they should include whatever you love and whatever makes YOU happy. I had pink for my wedding in May; my sister had pale lilac for hers in July. We didn't care what anyone else thought. :)

good colors for summer weddings:
Dark Pinks
Dark Purples ( Lavendar, Lilac)
Silver is always good
Medium-Light Greens
Medium Blues ( Turquise)
Etc.
You don't want to go too dark because those colors are more for Winter and Fall Weddings.
Too light is more for Spring.

Good Luck! and Congrats!
You can also try bridal/wedding sites. They always have good info and suggestions.
Just Yahoo Search or Google Wedding Helper Sites, Wedding Sites, Wedding Choices Sites, Bridal Sites.

Good Luck!

try picking some flowers that are in season during your part of the month -- then choose some colors that go with the flowers. (there are some really elegant orchids that you could surround with greens and get some really elegant looks going)

believe me, it is MUCH easier to pick the flowers you like and then decide what colors go with the flowers than the opposite way around.

A nice mauve would look pretty maybe paired up with ivory. Honestly if pink is what you what then go with the pink you like, you only get married once (hopefully) make it the best you will. Congradulations and Good Luck!
