I have been dying my hair black cherry for 6 months or so, at my last appt. the guy that does my hair convinced me to let him sneak in some pink and purple, and it was horrible! I had my aunt put a semi-permanent brown color over it, to try to cover or at least tame it. Its started to fade, so now I have this black cherry/pink/brown/purple creation. Everyone seems to love it, except for me. I really want to just get back to my natural color, a lighter brown. Is this even possible? Im thinking im probably going to have to just wait it out, but im willing to try anything that might work.

It's possible (my little sister did it) but you need to have a professional do it, not the guy who did this to you! It'll take a few times. After the first time your hair will have a reddish tint to it and won't be as light as you want. Wait about 3 months and have it done even lighter and you should look pretty close to your natural color. Good luck!

I don't know if you can do back to a lighter color.I've been dying my hair a lighter brown and I got sick of it. So my mom and I went to a drugstore and bought hair dye for my natural color (my hair was a lot darker than what I thought it was). It looks really good now and I love it. So maybe the cheap simple way could work for you the way it did for me.

You will need to definitely lift your old color, which you should go to a pro for. You don't want to try to fix something and make it look worse! If everyone likes it and you don't,you need to do something about it. Your hair is like a permanent accessory that you have to wait to change unlike your purse. You should have a pro do it for sure and not the person that convinced you of something you didn't want to do. It's your hair, not theirs. It will most likely be a pretty pricey thing to do but in the long run, you will probably like it better. It will be tedious and will require more than one day of coloring (which is very normal for color corrections). But I think you will like it better.

There is some stuff that Ive seen at Wal mart it will take dyes out of your hair, but Ive never used it. If that dont work, I would wash your hair daily with baby shampoo. Its gentle, but is actually very "stripping". It will CLEAN your hair, use conditioner or it will make your hair dry. You could try to have your air lightened. I would not pay a stylist if they dont give you what you want, Ive been in a salon until 11:00pm, because a stylist messed my hair up.

If you have a Sally's Beauty supplies store in your area they can help you.You will defintely need to make your own haircolor. Use a dark brown with a 10 percent grade of peroxide leave on for 25 minutes. So that way you put color in not highlight it.

The only way to lighten hair that's been permanently colored is to bleach it out or strip it out...neither of which I recommend doing yourself...it's very damaging and can turn your hair to mush, especially if it's long...maybe start out with a heavy highlight to gradually lighten it up...don't keep putting color on top of it because you'll just make it worse...also keep reconditioning during this process...Redken's Extreme line is good...

Rule of color. Color will not Lift color.(from dark to light) So you need to "Lift" the black cherry color. Which means bleach or something similar to bleach. I would suggest you have a professional take you back to your natural color. They will probably lighten you using bleach, then color you your natural color.

color does not lift color, your aftificial haircolor will have to be bleached out then toned to the brown color.
Do NOT try this at home. Seek a professional.

you prefer to "coloration" your hair with lemon juice & that is going to lighten to a undeniable degree, however the sunlight & lemon juice is a foul combination. so as to lighten it on your liking, circulate to a salon, & get your hair colored professionally. in case you have a photograph of the colour you're searching for, take it with you once you circulate. make valuable to get your ends trimmed each six weeks & save your hair conditioned many times to maintain your hair healthful. Use a shampoo that is made for "coloration taken care of" hair & your coloration would desire to final longer. while getting a retouch, you prefer no longer get your total head re colored, purely the regrowth, as long simply by fact something of the colour looks shiny. That way, it will save your hair from getting broken.
