Interested in subcompact 9mm pistol. Glock 26, Springfield xd subcompact, H&K p2000sk, kahr pm9. What's best?

I would say the best is an H&K or Sig Sauer. However, Glock is probably the best for the money. Where I live in NC, I bought the Glock Model 23. Is is the compact model .40 caliber. I paid $479 and got a case, 2 clips, etc. I then bought an additional .357 Sig barrel (for model 32) and just dropped it in. No need to change clips, springs, or anything. It's like having 2 guns for about $600. I can now shoot .40 caliber and .357 Sig. I believe you can do the same thing with a .40 caliber Glock subcompat .40 caliber or .357 sig, but the barrel swith is not an option on the 9mm.

My opinion is Glock is the way to go because of this feature and the fact so many law enforcement officers use Glock. My friend has the subcompact 9mm and loves it. Buy the extension clip with the subcompact, so that you have some place for your pinky.

As far as reliability is concerned, definitely the Glock 26. As a point of interest the Glock 26 can utilize any .9mm Glock magazine. If you also own a Glock 17 or 19 those magazines will also work in your Glock 26.

For concealed carry the Kahr is flatter therefore more concealable. I own three Glocks, including the 26.

I own and carry a Glock 26, and it has been 100% reliable for the last couple of years. However, I will say that it is not the ideal concealed carry gun for me. If I had to make the decision all over again, I would choose the Kahr, it is a thinner and lighter pistol that is better suited to inside-waistband holsters, which are the best for concealment, in my honest opinion. The Kahr is very high quality, and more accurate than most shooters.

I'm not familiar with the H-K 2000, but I do own a H-K USP .45ACP, and wouldn't carry anything else. The H-K line is the favorite of independent evaluators, with a near-perfect endurance history and lack of malfunctions.
I did once read an independent evaluation between the H-K USP, a Glock 22, a Springfield XD, and Beretta 96, and the XD tied for second with the Glock. The USP was the winner with 0 malfunctions and the 96 drug in a far and away fourth.

I am about to buy the Springfield XD sub-compact 9mm in a couple days for $550. Go to google and type in "springfield xd subcompact torture test" and click the second site under the wikipedia site titled Springfield Armory. I think u will be pleased. I live in Indiana so I know u can get it here but Im sure want to go somewhere closer. Damn the glock and sig saucer, get the springfield

Glock 26 with the extension on the clip for the pinky finger. Gives more stability for shooting. My wife loves hers. Scored 248 out of a possible 250 on her concealed handgun license.

The great thing about Glock pistols is that they will fire just about any brand or load of ammo without jamming. Few can make this claim.

Get the GLOCK and don't worry about what the others might be.
They are all a pretty good choice,seriously,and the one that feels most comfortable to you is the one to buy.

Get a Makarov 9X18! Super tough little easy to hide pistol. It will shoot any 9X18 you put in it. They are built like tanks, easy to shoot well, ultra reliable, the safety blocks the trigger, slide, hammer, and the firing pin which stays blocked when put in fire position and until trigger is fully pulled. They are accurate, too! Inexpensive but not cheaply built. Easy to tear down/clean. Holsters, magazines (clips), and cleaning rods are cheap and even come with them in some stores.
They are based on the Walther PP and PPK design (James Bond's pistol).

Definitely the Glock, my "family" prefers due to the weight and portability, but it depends on your application.
