The only times I've ever awakened from sleep with a strange language coming out of my mouth were when the noise of the "language" woke me up and then I realized I'd been snoring!

Wow. Embarassing.

Only thing I can think of with Chinese is the old idiom, "It's Greek to me!" Maybe some people say, "It's Chinese to me!"

there are different dialects ....do you mean cantonese or mandarin? I dont think there is one language that encompasses the Chinese...the other answer is you were speaking in tongues...ever heard someone talk in their sleep...sounds like chinese to me!

Their is no such language as "Chinese." Mandarin and Cantonese are just two of the many variants spoken. Were you dreaming just before you awoke?
