I really have a wake up call to better my life style by eating healthy and being more active. I was told by many people that I should check Weight Watcher's out. But I have very little information on how it can work for me. I understand I would need to attend a first meeting but I would appreciate a better explanation on what type of program this is. Thank you and I wish health and a good life upon you.

You are given daily point target based on your weight. You learn to keep record of what you eat and check off water, fruits/veg,milk, oil, etc. to stay within limit. It is healthy and do-able.

Attending weekly meetings is helpful. You privately weigh in. The lecture will answer question, give food ideas, teach behavior modification and motivate you by being with others, for example.

BTW, you had the best answer for standards IMO hmmmph:)

you will set a goal of how many "points" you can comsume per day, and you eat within that goal. you can eat special weight watchers food that has a low amount of points, or you can eat regular food and look up how many points a certain food is in the weight watcher's guide. (you should eat as little points as possible.)

If weight watchers worked, America would not be the fattest society to ever exist. Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.

But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.

So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. See site below.

Basically, WW works if you stay with it. Each food is given a certain number of "points", and you're allowed a certain amount of points each day. How you use those points is up to you, but you're supposed to stay within them. That basically teaches you portion control and healthier foods. It works.
