All are damaging, all will have serious affects. I guess the most damaging would be physical violence directed towards the child, as that could take their life. Ignoring and neglect are almost the same thing, not tending their needs for food, shelter, or parenting.

They are all forms of abuse, and while the violence will hurt a child physically, the psychological damage it does to their mind is exactly the same as ignoring and neglect. These 3 kinds of abuse have the one thing in common....it makes the child feel hated...with every punch, it says, you are a horrible person, I hate you, you dont deserve to live....its not the punch that does the lasting damage, its the psychological damage you are doing, just as serious as the psychological damage you are dong to the child when you neglect them....you are saying, you are a horrible person, I hate you, I cant stand to even look or talk to you....all the same...abuse is abuse and affects a childs mind adversely.

Ignoring a child tends to give him/her low self-esteem, and can be mentally damaging. Violence is physically damaging, while Neglect is mentally AND physically damaging. If I had to pick the most damaging one, I'd have to say ignoring the child though, because if the child has the ability to think rationally, he could convince himself that a violent parent is miserable inside, and a neglectful parent is unknowledgeable, two things that CAN be forgiven,..However, ignoring a child shows a lack of love, and THAT can be the most damaging.

Well, ignoring and neglect are about the same in my mind. Violence can hurt a child physically , mentally, and emotionally. Ignoring or neglecting can hurt a child emotionally and mentally. Yet, I would say the ignoring/neglecting would be more damaging because it can be harder to heal someones emotional or mental being than physical being.

ignoring and neglect would be the same thing. It depends on how far the violence or the neglect goes. The violence could kill a child and so could the neglect. Why are you asking this?

Violence. They get hurt when they are abused, and hurt in the years later. It's physical hurt and mental hurt. Abused kids are more likely to become alchoholics or drug users. I'm not saying that neglecting, or ignoring (which are pretty much the same thing) are not bad but all three kind of go together. You dont usually see a parent beating their kid, and then right afterwards asking the kid if they want to go out for ice cream.

All three are damaging. Ingnoring depending on the level or extrem of it is on the lower end of the scale. Violence is on the high end of the scale and neglect is in between. Neglect can vary from one extrem to the next though. I would have to say that any child dealing with any of the three will have problems in life if they survive.

Ummmm (D) all of the above. Ignoring a child will make him feel inadequate. Neglecting a child will make him feel inadequate. Beating a child is f****** stupid and makes you less of a person. Now what kind of role model is that?
