I would go for the bed, unless your dog is a chewer. He will tear it up. Otherwise, dogs love a place to lay down like those beds. He will love it.

If you are getting it at petsmart.com, there is a 10% off coupon from http://24houredeals.com/PETsMART-coupons-20-mer.html

Good Luck

Out of the 2, I would choose the bed. I would not want to sleep in a crate, and our dogs love their beds. A special meal would be nice too, special doggy treats, and maybe a play date with his favorite friends. Also, how about a new chew toy

I usually get mine a toy, some rawhides bones, a shirt (don't hate haha). At this store in my area they have little cupcakes made for dogs. I also had my dogs little friend come over for a play date for her last birthday. Sounds over the top I know but I love my pup! Happy birthday to your dog!

If his crate is in good condition and he still fits in it without a problem, I'd get him a bed. Beds wear out faster than crates.

I say new bed. I am sure he will be able to more directly appreciate the comfort.

Congratulations!
